UniCredit Bank Austria is committed to an inclusive corporate culture and fosters diverse teams for sustainable business success.

  • Diversity and inclusion are important success factors for the sustainable development of the company
  • In the “Vienna Pride” month of June, UniCredit Bank Austria once again shows its colours

“From my many years of professional experience in various European countries, I can only emphasise one thing: Diverse teams bring a decisive added value for the company – and thus for our customers as well as for our employees. In a nutshell: diverse teams simply have more ideas!” says Georgiana Lazar, Head of Human Capital at UniCredit Bank Austria.

Diversity and inclusion sustainably increase corporate success
In a globalised world with increasing international mobility, fiercer competition for the best talents and a permanently rising pace of innovation, companies have to manage the complexity of their heterogeneous client base as well as their diverse workforce in order to be successful in the long term. For many years, UniCredit Bank Austria has been committed to an inclusive corporate culture in which all employees can express their diverse ideas and experiences and contribute their individual talents to the company.

“Diversity and inclusion are among the most important values in our bank. We therefore promote a culture of inclusion and openness that enables all team members to be their unique selves and perform at their best,” emphasises Georgiana Lazar. “Diversity needs to go hand in hand with inclusion. Irrespective of our gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, nationality, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status or whether we have a disability: We are all only able to reach our full potential if we can build on an inclusive mindset and are supported by an inclusive work environment.”

Employee-initiated networks such as the UniCredit Bank Austria LGBTQIA+ network support the consistent implementation of diversity and inclusion goals. The company addresses these values, among other things, through its annual Diversity & Inclusion Week: e.g. last year, all employees were offered special events on topics such as “gender”, “disability”, “LGBTQ+”, “resilience”, “race & ethnicity” and “practicing allyship” for voluntary participation and further training. Diversity and inclusion are Group level priorities, thus the annual Diversity & Inclusion Week takes place in all UniCredit markets, and the different “Pride” weeks/months and other local initiatives are celebrated and supported across all markets.

In the “Vienna Pride” month of June, UniCredit Bank Austria once again shows its colours
The Austrian LGBTQ+ community is once again showing its strong presence in June, the month of “Vienna Pride”, and is lending weight to its demands for acceptance, respect and equal rights in Austria, Europe and worldwide – especially with the “Rainbow Parade” on Ringstrasse on 19 June.

UniCredit Bank Austria is also showing its colours once again in June, supporting “Vienna Pride” and the Austrian LGBTQ+ community: with activities spread throughout the month of June on its online and social media channels (bankaustria.at, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube), in the online magazine BAM! (bam-magazin.at), and with a strong presence of the rainbow colours in UniCredit Bank Austria branches and at the head office on the Austria Campus.
