UniCredit Bank Austria presents the "Student of the Year in Management and Economics" award

  • The prize, which has been presented by the Bank Austria Foundation since 1999, is being awarded to students on the Management and Economics Bachelor's programme at the University of Innsbruck once more this year

This year, the Bank Austria Foundation is awarding its "Student of the Year in Management and Economics" prize and EUR 2000 to Anna Rettenwander. The two EUR 500 recognition prizes will go to Simona Schirra and Tobias Zehetner. The "Student of the Year in Management and Economics" award has been presented to students at the University of Innsbruck since 1999.

The award winners are selected by the Bank Austria Foundation Board, whose members include Susanne Wendler, Member of the Management Board at UniCredit Bank Austria, Unternehmerbank, and Dieter Hengl, Chairman of the Management Board at Schoellerbank. "We are proud to have been supporting students in Tyrol with this award for so many years as part of our social commitment policy", says Hengl. "The way we see it, this award is an excellent blend of regional and international elements, which also reflects our own identity as a successful pan-European commercial bank", Wendler explains.

Those eligible to apply are students of the Management and Economics Bachelor's programme, offered under the "Business and Management" and "Economics and Statistics" faculties at the University of Innsbruck. In addition to exceptional academic achievement, this award also requires students to demonstrate social engagement.

"For me, social engagement is also a crucial criterion - one which is an important part of our corporate culture alongside our international orientation and strong regional grounding. Our engagement in Tyrol is no exception to this and this award for those studying there is a great example of our commitment" says Markus Sappl, UniCredit Bank Austria Regional Director in Tyrol.
