Frequently asked questions
The MegaCard-account is for all children and teenagers from 10 to 20 years old.
If a parent is already a customer of Bank Austria and has Online banking access, the MegaCard-account can be opened online via 24You Online banking or in the MobileBanking app. For this, the parent's Online banking login data and the child's valid passport are required.
Without Online banking access, one can apply for the MegaCard-account online. Only a final in-person signature at a branch location is required. For this, a valid passport, a smartphone and an e-mail address is needed.
The MegaCard2 will be delivered by mail to your primary residence.
With the MegaCard2, up to 50 euros per week can be withdrawn from ATMs, always within the limits of the account balance. It is not possible to exceed this limit.
For purchases with POS checkout payment, the limit is up to 50 euros per week. Also, the maximum amount of a single contactless transaction without PIN entry at POS cash registers is currently set at 50 euros. A total of up to a maximum of 125 euros in a row is possible. After that, a transaction involving inserting the debit card and entering the PIN is required for security reasons.
Unfortunately, online shopping is only possible above the age of 14.
After turning 14, benefits such as CashBack Online or CashBack Mobile are automatically adjusted to the MegaCard-account for the age 14 and above. If you wish to have higher limits or make online payments using the Mastercard Identity Check of the MegaCard2 for the age 14 and above, you must order the new debit card (MegaCard 14+ years) at the branch of your choice. The debit card will then be delivered to your primary residence.
