Largest crowdfunding initiative supports local cultural scene for the eighth time
- UniCredit Bank Austria crowdfunding for cultural projects with social added value starts on 17 May 2022
- So far, 238 projects have been supported and 2.4 million euros have been raised
UniCredit Bank Austria is supporting the comeback of the Austrian cultural landscape and the drive of local cultural creators with the eighth edition of its crowdfunding initiative. It not only helps creative projects with social added value to obtain funding, but also offers them a broad public and access to the culture-savvy crowd in cooperation with the “wemakeit” platform. From 17 May 2022, the “reward based” crowdfunding goes into the next round to promote cultural diversity with fresh capital. UniCredit Bank Austria will participate in the financing of each successfully participating crowdfunding campaign with up to 5,000 euros and provide a total of 100,000 euros.
“The collective commitment of the crowd to a project is often the first milestone in a success story. With this crowdfunding initiative, UniCredit Bank Austria not only enables an innovative financing model, but also promotes direct contact between cultural creators and interested parties. Financing a project is strong proof of its future viability,” emphasises Robert Zadrazil, CEO of UniCredit Bank Austria.
A few clicks to crowdfunding success for bold projects: UniCredit Bank Austria invests 100,000 euros
From 17 May 2022, groundbreaking projects with social relevance can be submitted at https://www.wemakeit.com. Immediately after activation on Europe's largest crowdfunding platform for the cultural scene, the crowd can get started and participate financially. Once at least 20 supporters have financed the first third of the targeted project volume, UniCredit Bank Austria comes into play and takes over the second third with an amount of up to 5,000 euros per project. After this strong boost, the last third has to be raised again by the crowd. This ensures that those projects make it to the finish line that convince a high number of supporters and attract the interest of the culture-savvy public.
UniCredit Bank Austria provides 100,000 euros each year for projects from all over Austria. Special attention is paid to young, innovative, and regional projects that create added value for society.
Support on the road to success
The experts at “wemakeit” support the cultural creators throughout the entire process. As soon as the respective presentation page is set up and all criteria for participation are met, the “wemakeit” team assists with feedback and advice. Afterwards, the submitters themselves can decide on the launch date of their crowdfunding campaign in order to optimally coordinate their accompanying communication and activation measures.
Participating projects have the opportunity to take part in webinars and online tutorials on crowdfunding campaigns on the “wemakeit” website. The webinars will take place on the following dates: 19 May 2022 and 14 June 2022, both at 6 pm. The use is free of charge for those interested in crowdfunding with the support of UniCredit Bank Austria. Registration at: hello@wemakeit.com.
