Evaluation of a possible cross-border merger of UniCredit Banka Slovenija d.d. with UniCredit Bank Austria AG and transformation to a branch started
Slovenia is an important part of UniCredit Group’s growth plan in Central Europe and further developing the opportunities of this market is a key tenant in the delivery of our strategy UniCredit Unlocked. For this reason, we analysed various scenarios focused on unlocking our potential in Slovenia.
Part of this involves looking at ways to optimise and enhance our current operations. We are reinforcing the commercial franchise and optimizing our products and services to deliver the best to our clients in the most efficient way. To this end we are starting the evaluation of a possible cross-border merger of UniCredit Banka Slovenija d.d. with UniCredit Bank Austria AG and transformation of UniCredit Banka Slovenija d.d. to a branch of UniCredit Bank Austria AG.
The goal of the evaluation is to define a new and simpler operating model to unlock even better services for all our customers in both countries with UniCredit Group further operating in Slovenia under the brand name UniCredit Bank.
The assessment starts now with completion due in the third quarter of 2023. The anticipated output of this evaluation is the preparation of a detailed merger plan. It would be subject to the approval of the respective corporate bodies and supervisors.
In the immediate term all businesses will remain as they are, with a continued focus on supporting and serving our clients.
