Svetlana Pancenko and Hélène Buffin are appointed as new members of the Management Board of UniCredit Bank Austria

  • Svetlana Pancenko will be newly appointed as Member of the Management Board of UniCredit Bank Austria for People & Culture as of 1 February 2024
  • Hélène Buffin will become the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of UniCredit Bank Austria as of 1 March 2024

The Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bank Austria has appointed Svetlana Pancenko, 45, currently Member of the Management Board for People & Culture of UniCredit Bank Hungary, as the new Member of the Management Board of UniCredit Bank Austria for People & Culture as of 1 February 2024. In this position, she succeeds Georgiana Lazar, who will become the new Head of People & Culture at HVB in Germany as of 1 February 2024. Hèlène Buffin, 54, will join the Management Board of UniCredit Bank Austria as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on 1 March 2024. She succeeds Philipp Gamauf, who will be leaving the company at his own request at the end of February.

Svetlana has extensive experience in HR management, which she will contribute to the further development of UniCredit Bank Austria as part of the implementation of the new strategic plan. With Hélène Buffin, an outstanding leader from our own ranks is joining the Management Board of UniCredit Bank Austria as CFO. Hélène is one of the most distinguished financial experts in the entire UniCredit Group, with extensive and in-depth knowledge of strategic financial planning as well as many years of experience at UniCredit Bank Austria, and has demonstrated her exceptional skills with great success over the past two years as Head of Group Planning. I would like to thank Georgiana Lazar and Philipp Gamauf for their outstanding performance and dedication over the last few years and wish them all the best in their new roles.”

Svetlana Pancenko started her career at UniCredit Bank Serbia, where she became Head of the HR department in 2003. From 2009 to 2013, she headed the HR division of UniCredit Bank in Slovakia in Bratislava, after which she moved to Vienna in October 2013, where she was initially Business Manager of the HR Board for UniCredit Bank Austria and HR CEE and finally became Head of HR for CEE Retail. From 2020 until recently, the graduate tourism manager was Head of People & Culture at UniCredit Bank Hungary.

Hélène Buffin studied management, finance and strategic management in Paris before joining product management at Bank Austria in 1991 and quickly taking on various management roles in sales management, including Head of Sales Management in the Private Banking Division of UniCredit Bank Austria from mid-2006 to October 2011. In October 2011, she moved to UniCredit in Milan as Global Head Private Banking Planning & Control. Back in Vienna from 2013, she took on leading functions in Planning & Controlling at UniCredit Bank Austria, where she finally became Head of Accounting at the beginning of 2021, before being promoted to Head of Group Planning in Milan in May 2022.
