Creative visions become reality: UniCredit Bank Austria’s crowdfunding initiative enters its tenth year

  • From 15 May 2024, Austrian creatives will once again have the opportunity to present their projects to a wide audience and receive up to 5,000 euros in funding

Since the launch of its annual “reward based” crowdfunding programme in 2015, UniCredit Bank Austria has already raised more than 3 million euros thanks to the participation of well over 20,000 supporters, supporting around 300 Austrian cultural projects. This year, the bank is continuing its joint commitment to supporting the Austrian cultural and creative scene in cooperation with “wemakeit”. The crowdfunding initiative is already entering its tenth round this year and, as in the previous year, has a budget of 100,000 euros in the funding pot. UniCredit Bank Austria is thus once again offering the country’s creative minds the opportunity to present their ideas on one of Europe’s leading crowdfunding platforms for the cultural scene and at the same time receive the financial support they need to realise them.

“Innovation and creativity are the driving force in our society. We are once again giving promising talents a platform this year and are sending a strong signal in favour of the diversity of the cultural and creative scene in Austria with our partnership with ‘wemakeit’. With up to 5,000 euros in funding per project and personal support, we offer creative artists valuable and very practical support in realising their projects,” says Robert Zadrazil, CEO of UniCredit Bank Austria.

Launch of the crowdfunding initiative on 15 May 2024
From 15 May 2024, initiators will have the opportunity to publish their innovative projects on wemakeit.com. As soon as the projects are activated on the platform, it is up to the initiators to mobilise at least 20 supporters from an individually selected start date and within a fixed term and to reach the first third of the targeted financing amount. Once they have reached this milestone, UniCredit Bank Austria secures the financing of the second third up to a maximum amount of 5,000 euros. The campaign is considered successfully completed if the project also reaches the last third of the financing through the commitment of its own supporters before the end of the term. In this case, UniCredit Bank Austria will pay out its funding as part of the target amount reached. If, on the other hand, the target amount is not reached, the supporters will receive their money back.

“wemakeit” as the ideal companion for creative projects
Creative artists participating in UniCredit Bank Austria’s crowdfunding initiative can count on the support of wemakeit’s experts throughout the entire process. In order to optimally prepare and familiarise themselves with the conditions of participation, all participants in the initiative also have the opportunity to take part in free webinars and online tutorials on the topic of crowdfunding campaigns on the “wemakeit” website scheduled for 18 April 2024 and 7 May 2024 at 5.30 p.m.; registration is by email to hello@wemakeit.com with the reference “Bank Austria”.
