“The awarding of the Bank Austria Social Prize emphasises our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development. Especially in socially and economically challenging times, it is particularly important for UniCredit Bank Austria to draw attention to the importance of charitable initiatives and to support their activities,” emphasises Ivan Vlaho, CEO of UniCredit Bank Austria, and continues: “This is why we are supporting outstanding social projects from all over Austria with the Bank Austria Social Prize for the 16th time in a row this year and look forward to many exciting submissions. The focus is primarily on projects focussing on education and training, as we as UniCredit Group have long been committed to equal and fair educational opportunities for children and young people throughout Europe.”
Funding totalling 90,000 euros
The prize money totalling 90,000 euros will be divided equally between all the federal states. A jury of regional experts will make the shortlist and select three finalists per federal state from the total number of entries. The final rankings are decided by the public, who can vote online on the Bank Austria Social Prize website. The winning project in each federal state receives 6,000 euros, second place is endowed with 3,000 euros and third place with 1,000 euros.
“This year, we are once again inviting our customers and the general public to vote for the project of their choice on the project website from 7 July to 15 September 2025,” says Ivan Vlaho.
